Blog Post #4- Copyright

Who owns the past truly, while moments in history are happening and are being recorded, who can really say they own the past. All eager to learn information and pushing the information for the next generations that follow us next.

Although, the way history is persevered there are people who are credited and could possibly own the information. As a way to make sure their work is not being copied word for word. When it comes to who owns the past, I would like to say it was those who put the information out for the world to see for the very first time.

On the other hand, how can we pinpoint who exactly owns the past when there are so many different individuals, organizations, and companies who work to make sure their work are accredited and made known to the public.

The level of copyright access I have chosen for my website was CC BY-NC-ND I chose creative commons for my website but I do not want it to be used for commercial purposes as it is just mainly a blog post and I do not wish to gain monetary services. I haven’t allowed adaptations, but that can possibly be changed in the future and allow adaptations to my work.

The copyrights and licenses I have seen from the other sources in this class were mainly that no adaptations could be done to the original work and has copyright licenses.

For my final project I believe I will be using CC BY-ND 4.0 DEED. As I wish not for others to change my work when it comes to my final project and is built for these class purposes.

The possible limitations I could face for my Final project would be finding credible copyright work for my project and finding right sources.

  1. Hi Vera,

It’s a great choice that you chose CC BY-NC-ND. It makes sense if it is just for your blog. I can see that by using CC BY-ND 4.0 DEED you are proud of your work and do not want anyone changing it, which is great!
I’m sure that you’ll figure out credible copyright work for your project!

    Great job!
